Drayden Insurance and Registries offices in the Edmonton area are here to make your Alberta vehicle registration renewal as easy as possible. Did you know that you no longer have to visit a registry to get your non-commercial plates renewed? All you need to renew online is the following:

  • Vehicle registration certificate
  • Your pink card with insurance details
  • Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card

Do you know when your current registration expires? Check out the handy registration expiry date chart from Service Alberta. Please note that if your registration is due to expire in less than 10 business days, please visit one of our registry locations. If you have outstanding fines, those will need to be paid first and given a couple days to process.

To complete your Alberta vehicle registration renewal at the convenience of your own computer, follow these steps:

  1. Step 1 – Click on the Easy Renew button on this page. It will take you to the OptionPay website.
  2. Step 2 – Set up your account. You will provide your name, email, cell number for SMS text messages, address and a password. You can elect to have reminders set up for future renewals at this time.
  3. Step 3 – Provide registration and vehicle details. You will need to have your renewal month, plate number, registration number from your pink card, insurance provider policy number and your policy expiration date. You will select the type of vehicle from a list. You may enter another vehicle if needed.
  4. Step 4 – Click the “check to pay” box before the vehicle info and it will provide your online renewal cost.
  5. Step 5 – Enter your credit card information and authorize the payment.

If you renew in advance, your stickers will be mailed from our Westlock office in the first week of the month your registration is set to expire. If you renew within your renewal month, the stickers will be sent within 10 business days. If needed, request to pick up the stickers at a Drayden Registry office near you and be sure to use the express lane as you’ve already paid for them.
