  • At what age can a person obtain a learner’s licence?

    In Alberta an individual must be at least 14 years of age to apply for a learner’s licence with acceptable I.D., and parental consent if under the age of 18.

  • Do I need the renewal form that I received in the mail in order to renew my driver’s licence and vehicle registration?

    No, you are not required to present the renewal form if you do not have it. Present your existing photo license and secondary I.D. for a driver’s license renewal and the liability insurance proof, driver’s license for registration.

  • What do I need to register my vehicle?

  • What is co-insurance?

    This is a penalty clause which insurance companies apply when insured’s do not carry adequate limits of insurance on their property. It is critical that policyholders review their building limits regularly to ensure that the limit reflects proper value.

  • Why is my auto premium so high?

    The amounts in claims (injury accidents, theft, damages, etc.) have drastically increased over the past few years. Court awards and the amount of litigation is much higher than ever before. We, as policy holders, simply share in these costs.

  • If my dwelling is going to be vacant what do I do?

    It is a requirement under most insurance policies that if your dwelling is vacant for more than 30 consecutive days you must provide notice to your Drayden Insurance Broker.
    Upon notice “Permission for Vacancy” is generally granted by the insurer, which provides restricted coverage (i.e. fire and windstorm – not vandalism, water damage, etc.).

  • I will be away this winter, what do I have to do to ensure my home insurance is valid?

    Should you be away for more than 4 consecutive days you should do one of the following:

    • Have a competent adult check the house daily; or
    • Ensure the heat is maintained, drain and shut off the water supply and drain all pipes and appliances.
  • I have just moved to Alberta, how do I obtain Alberta Insurance, registration and driver’s licence?

  • What are my payment options?

    Payments for insurance policies can be made with Cash, Cheque, Visa, Mastercard or Debit transaction and monthly pay plans are also available. Payments for Registry services can only be made by Cash, Cheque or Debit. Contact us for details.

  • What can I do to reduce my insurance cost?

    Check with the broker to ensure you are receiving all available discounts and increase your deductibles. A Drayden broker would be happy to review your insurance policies for the best rates and coverages.

  • What are our hours of operation?

    The hours of operation vary amongst the branches; however, all are open between 8:30a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Please refer to branch locations for specific hours listed for each branch.
