In addition to Insurance, Drayden Insurance Ltd. is an Alberta Authorized Registry Agent at five of our locations. Come into St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Morinville, Westlock or Leduc Registries to take advantage of the following registry services. Fees for these registry services can be paid for by Cash, Cheque or Debit.

Proof of Insurance
A Valid Pink Card is Proof of Insurance and is required for all Motor Vehicle services.

Renewing my Vehicle Registration
No Changes:
Please be sure to bring in insurance that is Valid on the day you come in, or complete and have the registered owners sign the back at the bottom of your renewal form. With Changes:
All owner listed on the registration are required to sign for changes on the registration. If all owners are not able to come into the office together, please use this Letter of Authorization. -
Vehicle Registration on a “New” or “New to You”
Any name that appears on the Bill of Sale, Lease or the plate you plan on using must be on the Proof of Insurance (Pink card). As well, all signatures are required for registration. If all parties are unable to come in, please fill out this Letter of Authorization in order to register.
- If your vehicle is “brand new’ you will require a “NVIS” New Vehicle Information Statement” to register it. The dealership will provide this to you.
- Bill of Sale of lease, etc. If the Bill of Sale is in more than one name you will require both signatures to register. If someone else will be registering the vehicle for the owner, authorization in writing is required. Please complete the Letter of Authorization in our printable Forms section for the individual to bring with them.
- Proof of ALBERTA insurance
- Acceptable I.D.

Registering a Vehicle From out of Province
In order to register a vehicle that was last registered outside of Alberta, you require and Out Of Province Inspection. To obtain the required form for this inspection, come into any Drayden Registries with the previous registration or Bill of Sale, along with your Drivers Licence and we will provide you with a “Request for Inspection”. If your vehicle was last registered outside of Canada you will also be required to present the “Form 1” import form that you received from Canada Customs. At this time you may have only one stamp on it, but to register you must have two, here is a list of Federal inspection stations.
Click here to see the list of local inspection stations in your area. Once this inspection is complete, it must be returned to our office within 14 days of the inspection date.
When your inspection is complete, you can register your vehicle, please bring with you the following:
- Your current registration or Bill of Sale
- The completed Out-of-Province inspection
- For vehicles last registered outside of Canada, the “Form 1″ with two stamps on it.
- Proof of ALBERTA insurance
- Acceptable I.D.

Proof of Alberta Residency
Must be in applicant’s name and current address.
- Utility, Telephone, Gas or Cable Bill.
- Current bank and/or credit card statements.
- Mortgage documents or residential lease containing a client’s physical address.
- Income tax return (within six months).
- Written confirmation of employment (on company letterhead, including contact name and telephone number).
- Written confirmation from an educational institution in Alberta indicating dependents are attending school.
- Alberta Social benefits documents.
- Land Title documents.
- Mail from the federal government mailed to your Alberta Address.

What do I need to get a Lien Search?
Drayden Registries staff are fully certified to provide you with full Search Products. If you provide us with a serial number, Personal Name or Company name, we can search it for liens. Personal Property registrations and searches. From lien searches to Writ’s we can do it? YES we can!

Obtaining an Alberta Driver’s Licence
When applying for an Alberta license please bring with you the following:
- Your physical and mailing address.
- Medical if required.
- A supporting piece of ID, see Acceptable I.D.
- If moving from outside Alberta, you will need to provide:
- Your license from your previous Province or Country.
- Proof that you are lawfully entitled to be or to remain in Canada. (see below)
- Proof of Alberta residency. (see below)
If you do not have your last drivers license then you will require a clearance letter from your previous province.

What do I need to get a Land Title?
If you are looking for an Alberta or any Canadian Land Title Drayden Registries can provide that for you when you provide the legal land description.

How do I book my Road Test?
We provide testing in all classes. Booking is done only in person, but you can go to any Drayden Registry office to book your road test.
Road Tests must be paid for at the time of booking and are subject to an administration fee if cancelled three days prior to the scheduled test.
We test in:- St. Albert: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and every other Saturday. All Classes except Class1 can be conducted from this office. We are generally booking 4-6 weeks out.
- Spruce Grove: Wednesdays and Fridays. We book All Classes in this branch.
- Morinville: Thursdays and every other Tuesday. We book all Classes except the 5 Advanced Road Test.
- Westlock: Mondays. We book all Classes except the 5 Advanced Road Test.
- Leduc Registries: Please contact Leduc Registries for more information.

What do I need and when can I write my Knowledge Test?
You can write your knowledge test for any class of license in any of our Drayden Registry locations.
Under 18:
- A parent/guardian/court appointed guardian must be present with Acceptable I.D.
- Two pieces of Acceptable I.D. One MUST be your Birth Certificate, Passport, Citizenship Card or Secure Certificate of Indian Status (SCIS)
- Your physical & mailing address.
Over 18:
- You will require two pieces of Acceptable I.D.
- Proof of Legal Presence in Canada.
- Proof of residency in Alberta. This must include your mailing address and you must provide a physical address.
Full testing and issuing of a learning permit takes approximately 1 hour so you must be seated at a computer for testing 1 hour prior to closing. Click here for hours.

Corporate Registration
Drayden Registries now provides all Corporate Registry Services! Drayden Registries will incorporate named or numbered companies, revivals, annual returns, trade names, partnerships and all amendments.

How do I get a Boat Operator License?
You can get your Boat Operators License in all of our Drayden Registries offices.
- We have available Canadian Coastguard accredited Boat Operator Handbooks and testing.
- You must begin your Testing by 4:00pm Monday to Friday and 11:30am on Saturdays.

Alberta Birth/Marriage/Death Certificates or Legal Name Change
You will need to complete the Alberta Birth or Death Certificate form, which can be obtained at any of our Registry offices or found on the Alberta Government Services website and bring it with you.
You will need to provide Acceptable I.D. which includes:
birth certificate
citizenship card
immigration visa
passport
permanent resident card
Secure Certificate of Indian Status (SCIS)
baptismal certificate (also known as christening or dedication documents)
driver’s licence -
What do we need to get our Marriage License?
If you are being married in Alberta with in the next 90 days, please come into Drayden Registries for your marriage licence. You will need the following:
- Acceptable I.D. for both individuals. (Both individuals must be present.)
- birth certificate
- citizenship card
- immigration visa
- passport
- permanent resident card
- Secure Certificate of Indian Status (SCIS)
- driver’s licence
- If you have been divorced you must bring your final divorce “certificate” or “Decree Absolute”. Must be original document, photocopies are not acceptable.
- Please fill out our marriage licence application and bring it in with you.
- Acceptable I.D. for both individuals. (Both individuals must be present.)

How do I get an Alberta Drivers Abstract?
Your Alberta Driving record can be purchased for the past 3, 5 or 10 years; the cost for all levels is the same. If you are coming into one of our Registry offices, to purchase your own abstract, you will need to complete this Abstract form to receive a copy.
If you are unable to pick up your abstract personally, and have made arrangements to have someone come into our office to purchase it, you will need to complete this Abstract Consent form then fax or email a scanned signed copy to our office for someone to pick up the completed Abstract on your behalf. When your agent comes into our office they will need to complete the Intent form to pick it up, provide a drivers licence (or another form of Acceptable I.D.)
If you are not able to have someone come in on your behalf, please send us an email and we will provide you with details on how to obtain your abstract.
